Whale Watching

In the last ten years Iceland has become one of the favourite places for whale watching in the northern hemisphere. Around Iceland you can find more different species of whales than in many other destinations and the success rate in spotting whales is quite enormous: up to 98%!

Whale watching in Iceland is a unique wildlife adventure.

Humpback whales, Minke whales, and dolphins are the most common species in Icelandic waters, but also Killer whales and even the biggest creatures on earth, the Blue whales are regularly spotted on such tours.

Whale watching trips are offered in the area around Reykjavik and Keflavik, from Snaefellsnes Peninsula as well as near the north coast, from Husavík Village and Akureyri Town.
